Susie Seigle

EDUCATION

Ms. Seigle’s dance education began at age 5, locally at Miss Harriet’s Dance Studio, where her mother, Carol Kaufman, was a teacher.  Then it was on to Oakland University where she studied modern with Carol Halstead, jazz with Mari Winsor, and performed with the first company of Oakland University Dance Theater.  In New York, Susie studied with tap luminary Henry LeTang, and jazz greats Luigi, and Frank Hatchett.  She was also awarded a scholarship to study with Gus Giordano in Chicago. 

 

PERFORMING EXPERIENCE 

Susie has performed at OPRYLAND U.S.A. in Nashville, and has toured with DREAMDANCE National Touring Company.  She has been featured in many musical revues and Industry Shows throughout the United States including the INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOWS.  She was a featured dancer in the show “SALUTE TO THE SUPERSTARS” which is currently at the Windsor Casino, and in numerous commercials and music videos.  Susie was also a cheerdancer for the DETROIT EXPRESS soccer team, and the DETROIT PANTHERS arena football team.

 

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Ms. Seigle has been sought out to choreograph musicals for local high schools, and has been an instructor at MARYGROVE COLLEGE.  She was the co-owner of STAGE DOOR DANCE STUDIO in Farmington Hills, and has taught at CORNELIA’S in Keego Harbor.  In 1999 Susie developed the dance program at West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation along with Robin Jacobson until 2002 when she became co-director of GOTTA DANCE.   From 1999-2002  she was the supervisor of DANCE CITY at Camp Tamarack.

Robin Jacobson

 

EDUCATION

Robin began her dance training at the age of 7 from Carol Kaufman at Stage Door Dance Studio in Farmington Hills.  She studied ballet and modern with Judy Molina who is currently the artistic director of dance at Marygrove College.  In Chicago she studied with Gus Giordano and in New York with jazz legend Luigi.  Robin’s passion has always been dance, however, she holds a master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition and prior to opening “Gotta Dance” she practiced as a Registered Dietitian.

 

PERFORMING EXPERIENCE

Robin has toured with the DREAMDANCE National Touring Company and was a dancer in the nightclub revue “CITY LIGHTS”.  She has been featured in several musical revues, T.V. pilots and MTV videos.  Live television performances include classic shows such as KELLY & COMPANY and GOOD AFTERNOON DETROIT.   She has also performed with the jazz dance master/choreographer JOE TRAMAINE.  You may have seen Robin promoting our Detroit Pistons when she danced with the CLASSY CHASSIS

 

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Robin began assistant teaching at STAGE DOOR DANCE STUDIO in Farmington Hills at the age of 14.  She has since choreographed several local musical revues. In 1999 together with Susie Seigle, Robin developed the dance program at West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation until 2002 when she became co-director of GOTTA DANCE.  She has also been the co-supervisor of DANCE CITY at Camp Tamarack from 2000-2002.
